Board & Lodge: Program Description

Arrowhead House West is licensed by St. Louis County to provide Board and Lodging with "Specialized Health Services". We serve adults having a primary diagnosis of mental illness, MI/CD (dual diagnosis) or those who have experienced emotional problems which have seriously affected their ability to live and work independently.

While the environment is less structured than a treatment setting, we provide 24-hour supervision by trained staff, medication supervision and crisis intervention services to assist residents during their placement. Compass Plans to help guide the care path are developed with the resident, case manager and representatives of any community resources utilized during the residency.

Development of Chemical Health Plans and Relapse Prevention Plans are also offered upon admission. Referrals are made to A.A. Intergroup and similar chemical health support services which are easily accessible in the community. We have a breathalyzer on site to use as needed to promote honesty and sobriety. No street drugs or alcohol are allowed in the building.

Recreational areas, a group meeting room and large common areas are all part of this spacious facility. Bedrooms consist of single and double occupancy rooms with each having their own bathroom. Each resident is provided with a room key and a front door key to enhance their independence and promote safety. Additionally, many community resources, public transportation and shopping are within easy walking distance.

Resident populations served include mental health, chemical health, MI/CD, mild and borderline MR and special needs population who may be involved in the criminal justice system.
