Mental Health Rehab Worker

Mental Health Rehab Worker - Thur, Fri, Sat, 3pm-11:15pm working with adults with serious and persistent mental illness in a rehabilitative treatment setting. There is also a required meeting to attend every Wednesday from 2pm-4pm (paid). 

Duties include working with clients on independent living skills in the areas of meal preparation, housekeeping, crisis relapse prevention, medication management, etc. Training provided.

PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT MEET THE DEFINITION OF A MENTAL HEALTH REHAB WORKER AS DEFINED BELOW. VERIFICATION OF DEGREE AND/OR HOURS WORKING WITH ADULTS WITH MENTAL ILLNESS WILL BE REQUIRED.

Mental Health Rehabilitation Workers work under the direction of a mental health professional or mental health practitioner and must meet the following 4 requirements:
1. Must be at least 21 years of age
2. Have a high school diploma or equivalent

Meets one of the qualifications in A. or B.
A. Have associate of arts degree in one of the behavioral sciences or is a registered nurse without a bachelor's degree, or within the previous 10 years has :
• Three years personal life experience with serious and persistent mental illness
• Three years personal life experience as primary caregiver to an adult with a serious mental illness or brain injury
• 4000 hours supervised paid work experience in the delivery of mental health services to adults with a serious mental illness or brain injury



 Adult Foster Care Positions:

  • Part Time Day (3-4 days a week 8am-2pm)

  • Part Time Afternoon (3-4 days a week 4-10pm or 3-9pm)

  • Full Time Overnight (3-4 days a week 10pm-7am)

‚Äč*All Positions are front half/back half week rotations and switch quarterly. 

Front Half: Sun, Mon, Tuesday

Back Half: Thurs, Fri, Sat 

Direct Support Staff assist clients with increasing independence, achieving goals, coping with Mental Health symptoms and community integration. Some additional tasks include; administering medications, preparing meals, accompanying to appointments, encouraging recreational activities, and household cleaning.

A qualified applicant must possess a strong work ethic, compassion for serving others and place emphasis on quality care. Staff are responsible for the overall health and safety of four adult individuals. Applicants must have valid drivers license and pass a background study.
