Summary

The Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker – Overnight Position is responsible for maintaining the sanitary condition of the building, and ensuring the building is secure and safe for all residents in the facility seeking treatment.    

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assist residents with improving their health by actively working with them on hygiene and nutrition in an alcohol/drug free manner.
  2. Maintain the security of the building and residents by following the door locking protocol, i.e. 11:00 pm lock / 6:30 am unlock, and making a minimum of hourly building checks throughout the shift.
  3. Provide crisis intervention of a mental health nature and as a third party in conflicts between residents.  Respond accordingly to any psychiatric emergencies, chemical health emergencies, etc.  Follow the Health Status Check protocol for resident illness, suicide watch, etc…
  4. Be a role model and encourage residents to be responsible for their behavior.

5.      Coordinate with Evening Shift MHP 1:1 rehab encounters to be performed and document accordingly.  Examples of encounter session that may come up on an overnight shift include but are not limited to:

a.       Meet 1:1 with assistance on how to problem solve.

b.      Meet 1:1 to assist residents with ways to improve their health by encouraging them to get proper rest.

  1. Record in the daily log about each resident’s activities and any other notable observations during their shift.
  2. Attend weekly clinical meetings to receive required clinical supervision. Follow required supervision protocol to report upcoming absences and complete necessary supervision requirements prior to the next clinical meeting.
  3. Keep the staff office clean and maintain a professional appearance.
  4. Participate with peer and self-evaluations at the end of 90 day trial period and annually thereafter.

10.  Observe, supervise and document the recipient’s medication program and be familiar with all prescription medications being taken.  Follow the nurses’ protocol for the administration of all medications.  Will be able to demonstrate competency in safe medication administration to recipients in accordance with licensing rules, medication administration policies and procedures.

  1. Maintain authority, safety and standards of professional performance while on duty.
  2. Complete the required daily cleaning tasks and follow the checklist provided to keep the environment both safe and sanitary.
  3. Report any maintenance issues to the Head of Maintenance as necessary.
  4. Replenish bathroom supplies such as toilet paper and hand towels.
  5. Mix water and disinfectants in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.  Dispose and replace according to product specifications.  Label and mark to OSHA standards.
  6. Complete any house laundry that was not able to be completed on prior shift.
  7. Responsible for laundering all linens of discharged residents.
  8. Responsible for discharge room cleans when the room is vacant. Coordinate with dayshift housekeeping staff.
  9. Maintain authority, safety and standards of professional performance while on duty.
  10. Arrange for transporting residents as needed according to Arrowhead House protocol.
  11. Responsible for filing and ensuring that the Resident Clinical and Demographic files remain organized and up to date.
  12. Responsible for typing up intake interviews from handwritten copy kept in the Demographic file. 
  13. See that the cleaning task checklist is followed to keep the environment both safe and sanitary and sign off as necessary.
  14. Other duties may be assigned to meet the needs of the program.
  15. All staff is expected to periodically assist at times when not scheduled to cover shifts due to vacations, illness, or emergencies of other staff members.

 Adult Foster Care Positions:

  • Part Time Day (3-4 days a week 8am-2pm)

  • 12pm-4pm shift (2 days a week)

‚Äč*All Positions are front half/back half week rotations and switch quarterly. 

Front Half: Sun, Mon, Tuesday

Back Half: Thurs, Fri, Sat 

Direct Support Staff assist clients with increasing independence, achieving goals, coping with Mental Health symptoms and community integration. Some additional tasks include; administering medications, preparing meals, accompanying to appointments, encouraging recreational activities, and household cleaning.

A qualified applicant must possess a strong work ethic, compassion for serving others and place emphasis on quality care. Staff are responsible for the overall health and safety of four adult individuals. Applicants must have valid drivers license and pass a background study.
